Vintage Antique Ships Lantern Maritime Light Oil Lamp ANCHOR Copper & Brass 12

Glass Chimney Oil Lamp with Single Wick Burner. This beautiful piece is timeless and would make a great addition to any Nautical Maritime collection. I believe this is a classic anchor lamp that has been used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. Made of heavy-gauge copper and brass, with a Fresnel style lens made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for many nautical miles. The anchor lamp is named for its use. A white light is required to be displayed at the tallest mast on all vessels at anchor or under way at night. Today electric lights are used but oil lamps such as this one are still kept on-board ships and yachts in case of electrical failure. Lantern including the handle and guides is approximately 12.5″ tall x 6″ wide x 4.25″ deep 8″. 4.5 diameter at bottom / base. Lantern only without handle is approximately 10.25 tall. Burner and chimney lamp approx. Fresnel Glass Globe on lantern is approximately 4 diameter. Pre-owned, estate find and in good vintage condition. Lantern has wear and patina, no cracks or chips on the outer Fresnel glass globe or the chimney glass, both in good condition, the lamp has oil burner. The bottom turns easily for removal of lamp. Metal chimney top has small area that looks bent – not sure if this was original design or not. Please review photos carefully. And note this is NOT TESTED. VTG LARGE Nautical ANCHOR Brass Copper Glass Ship Lantern Light Lamp Merman

I have not attempted to clean or polish this Lantern. I will leave that up to the new owner. It measures approximately 16 inches tall by 10 inches deep , this includes the wall bracket and side mounts, please refer to the photos. Without the wall bracket or side mounts it measures 7 inches across the bottom. It is heavy weighing in at almost 7 pounds. It is electric, you may wish to rewire it due to the old wiring being cloth covered. The lamp is brass with copper rivets. The wall mount bracket displays a Merman and Trident. The bottom of the latern has a glass panel. The bottom is marked “MADE IN HOLLAND”. Please refer to the photos as they are the greatest part of the description. Vintage Nautical Maritime Ceiling Lamp Light Fixture Ship Wheel Sailboat Anchor

A Nice Vintage Nautical Maritime Theme Ceiling Light Fixture. I may have a matching pair of these… If you’re interested message me to see if a pair is still available. The Vintage Glass Shade on this Fixture measures a nice 10 1/4 inches wide across the top and is approx 4 1/2 inches deep. Glass shade has a Cream/Beige colored finish on the outside with raised clear glass sailboats and anchors. The clear glass rim has a twisted rope design and the bottom has a nice starburst compass pattern. The Shade is from the 1940’s and is in Very Nice Vintage Condition with no chips or cracks but it does have some very minor roughness around the top rim, a few bubbles in the glass from the manufacturing process and a few small nicks around a couple of the chain holes. This is nothing that will ever be noticed once the fixture is mounted to your ceiling but I did want to mention it for accuracy. Lit or un-lit this Vintage Fixture will definitely capture your attention from the moment you walk into the room. When lit the light filters through the clear sections of the shade and produces an awesome lighting effect. The shade hangs from the fixture with 3 chains. The Stem of the Fixture consists of a clear glass piece and a metal ships wheel that has been painted an antique bronze color… The glass piece and ships wheel are vintage but the shade holder and canopy are new and have been painted a nice antique white or ivory color. This is a Semi-Flush Mount Fixture that measures just 11 inches from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the shade. This Fixture has been completely rewired, works great and is ready to install… The mounting bracket and screws are also included. It has new wiring and a new 3 Light Socket Cluster that takes 3 smaller standard base appliance type bulbs as shown in one of my photos, up to 60 watts each. Light bulbs are not included. With 3 bulbs this fixture gives off an abundance of light and will brighten most any size room. I have included pictures with and without a flash but my photos don’t even begin to capture how nice this fixture is. This light looks much nicer in person and would make a wonderful addition to any Nautical Themed Room or any other room in your home. As with any vintage lighting I recommend having your fixture inspected and installed by a professional licensed and bonded electrician.
