Wonderful nautical 1940’s Flush Mount Art Deco / Retro glass, wood and aluminum ceiling light fixture. This light is perfect for vintage powder room, boy’s room or kitchen. This super fun nautical light fixture is all original, with new wiring. This light was made by VIRDEN in the 1940’s or 1950’s. This light is in spectacular condition for age, looks nearly new. It takes three standard light bulbs, up to 40 watts each. If you require more light, you may use LED bulbs to get much more light and keep the heat and wattage lower. The sockets have been rewired. MEASUREMENTS: Shade Diameter: 10 1/2″ Light with wooden Handles Diameter: 14 1/2″ Length or Drop from Ceiling: 5 1/2 The vintage light fixture and shade are in wonderful condition. The original vintage shade shows nearly no visible wear at all, it has one small scratch in the painted portion. The vintage fixture has very little wear from age, nice condition. THIS LISTING IS FOR A VINTAGE POLISHED BRASS BEEHIVE STERN LIGHT. PERFECT FOR YOUR VINTAGE RUNABOUT. IT HAS BEEN RECENTLY REWIRED WITH A NEW 1156 SIZE SOCKET AND HAS A NEW LOW DRAW LED BULB INSTALLED AND IS READY TO MOUNT AND USE, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON BULB SOCKETS AND YOU CAN EASILY REPLACE THE LED BULB FOR A MORE TRADITIONAL INCANDESCENT TYPE BULB. THE NEW BULB SOCKET IS CONNECTED TO THE SOCKET WITH PROPER MARINE TINNED 16/2 WIRE WITH CRIMP ON BUTT CONNECTORS AND OVER THAT IS HEAT SHRINK WIRE WRAP TUBING THAT HAS BEEN HEAT SEALED, SHOULD STAY DRY. FROM THE BASE THERE IS AN APROX 24 LEAD. IT MEASURES APROX 22 1/4″ TALL, THE BEEHIVE LENS IS THE LARGER APROX 2 1/2″ DIAMETER ONE. THE LAVENDER COLORED GLASS ON THIS REALLY SPARKLES, IT HAS VERTICAL RIDGES MOLDED INTO THE INSIDE OF THE GLOBE, MOST OF THESE ONLY HAVE THE HORIZONTAL RIDGES/RIBS ON THE OUTSIDE, THIS HAS BOTH (SEE PHOTOS). HE GLASS ON THIS HAS THE HARD TO COME BY PURPLE/VIOLET HUE FROM MANY YEARS BEING IN THE SUN, I FOUND THIS ONLINE ABOUT OLD PURPLE GLASS. I ALSO HAVE SOME BOW LIGHTS WITH THE LAVEDER GLASS IN SEPARATE LISTINGS. American glass manufactured between 1860 and 1915 was made with manganese, which imbued the glass with an interesting trait; the glass turned purple when submitted to prolonged exposure to UV rays. THE FLAG IS APROX 18″ X 13″ AND IS NEW WITH HEAVILY SEWN STRIPES AND EMBROIDERED STARS. THE HEAVY RING ABOVE THE BOTTOM FLAG ATTACHMENT SPLIT RING IS TO HELP KEEP THE BOTTOM OF THE FLAG FROM RISING, IT’S EASILY REMOVED IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. THE HEAVY, CAST BRONZE BASE OPENS WITH A HEAVY DUTY CAST BRONZE WING NUT SO THAT THIS CAN BE EASILY REMOVED, OR YOU COULD RECESS IT DOWN SO IT IS LESS APT TO GET BROKEN WHEN THE BOAT IS COVERED, (SEE 11TH PHOTO) YOU WOULD JUST NEED A MALE/FEMALE PLUG/SOCKET TO CONNECT IT. THE BASE HAS NICE PATINA BUT IF YOU WANT IT TO MATCH I CAN POLISH IT TO MATCH, BUT THAT WOULDN’T BE MY RECOMMENDATION. THE 3/4 OD BRASS TUBING IS THICKER WALLED THEN NORMALLY USED FOR A LIGHT STAFF, BUT IS WHAT I HAD ON HAND. THIS REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL LIGHT AND WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR VINTAGE VESSEL, THIS TRULY IS YACHT JEWELRY AND REALLY MAKES A STATEMENT. AT THE TIME THIS WAS LISTED I HAVE ANOTHER NEAR IDENTICAL ONE TO THIS WITH A REMOVABLE MOUNT, AS WELL AS OTHER VINTAGE BRASS/BRONZE SIDE LIGHTS, BOW, AND STERN LIGHTS. Vintage Maritime Red Port Side Signal Light, Western Railroad Supply Co, Chicago

This sale is for a vintage maritime signal light made by Western Railroad Supply Co, Chicago. With red glass, this light may have been used as a nautical signal light for the port (left) side. These units have also been used as brake or stop signals on railroad lines. It measures 22 inches tall on its base, and the diameter of the base is 7 inches. It has internal wiring for a standard light bulb, and pictures can be seen with a test bulb lit up inside of it. The glass is original with no damage or cracks. This is a very rare find in such good condition! It appears that the entire housing is crafted in solid brass. We have not cleaned this unit at all. The unit has a beautiful patina. Stunning Near Pair Vintage Ships Brass Gimbal Ward Room /Cabin Lights. Admiralty Pattern AP9009 – Solid brass examples with an attractive weighted gimbal. These lamps could be used on a table or mounted on a bulkhead or wall in a horizontal position. While not dated this pattern was in service with the Royal Navy in WW11. The lamps have been recently rewired and are complete with retro cable and shades. These examples would date to the early 20th century. Height 13.5 (34cm). Weigh over 5 kilos the pair.
