Vintage Brass Bulkhead Light with Brass Shade Junction Box Restored and Rewired. Every light is individually finished by hand its take a lot of TLC and hence we ask for your patience and time to receive these gorgeous lights. This light fixture has been refurbished by stripping off all its old paint and old wiring. We have then polished and rewired wired the light with a modern socket and wires. The light is still old and has minor wear and tear. Over a period of time, the light will gain a very natural patina and is perfect for use both indoor and outdoor the house. If you live by the water and find it hard to find the right lights that will last, this is your perfect solution. The unique thing about this light is that it comes attached with a brass junction box covering which will cover a standard junction box so it looks like a complete fixture. It also can be used with or without the shade so you can change the look of lights whenever you want to. Base Diameter: 4.5 inches. Back Plate with screw holes- 5.5. Shade Diameter: 7 inches. The total drop to the bottom of the shades is 8. The overall diameter is 19. The canopy is 1 1/2″ x 5″ diameter. The cast brass anchor finial is 2 long. The fitters are 3 1/4 diameter. The clear as ice glass shades are 3 1/2″ diameter x 5″. No cracks or chips. The canopy, anchor, stars, and shade rings are brass. The fixture is stamped steel. The handles are wooden. All joints are snug. New ceramic medium base E-26 sockets. You just need a flat head screw driver. A touch of dirt and old paint on the back. No cracks, splits, or dents. Vintage flush mount cast metal light. O riginal parts and finish. Shown lit so you can imagine how wonderful the light will look at your home. All sides are shown. The fixture is 11 1/2 long. The total drop is 7 to the bottom of the globes. Ther fitters are 3 diameter. The finial is 2 diameter. The clear as ice glass globes are 4″ x 4″ diameter. No cracks or chips. Most likely pot metal. All the fitter screws in place. “N-S-E-W” cast into the finial. All joints are snug. Original Leviton medium base E-26 ceramic sockets. A touch of dirt and old paint on the back. Note: Both fitters have a few minor hairline cracks. I spot soldered the cracks. The globes are secure. No other cracks, splits, or dents. Nicks, scratches, and wear to the finish you should expect. THIS LISTING IS FOR A VINTAGE POLISHED BRASS BEEHIVE STERN LIGHT. PERFECT FOR YOUR VINTAGE RUNABOUT. IT HAS BEEN RECENTLY REWIRED WITH A NEW 1156 SIZE SOCKET AND HAS A NEW LOW DRAW LED BULB INSTALLED AND IS READY TO MOUNT AND USE, THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON BULB SOCKETS AND YOU CAN EASILY REPLACE THE LED BULB FOR A MORE TRADITIONAL INCANDESCENT TYPE BULB. THE NEW BULB SOCKET IS CONNECTED TO THE SOCKET WITH PROPER MARINE TINNED 16/2 WIRE WITH CRIMP ON BUTT CONNECTORS AND OVER THAT IS HEAT SHRINK WIRE WRAP TUBING THAT HAS BEEN HEAT SEALED, SHOULD STAY DRY. FROM THE BASE THERE IS AN APROX 24 LEAD. IT MEASURES APROX 22 1/4″ TALL, THE BEEHIVE LENS IS THE LARGER APROX 2 1/2″ DIAMETER ONE. THE LAVENDER COLORED GLASS ON THIS REALLY SPARKLES, IT HAS VERTICAL RIDGES MOLDED INTO THE INSIDE OF THE GLOBE, MOST OF THESE ONLY HAVE THE HORIZONTAL RIDGES/RIBS ON THE OUTSIDE, THIS HAS BOTH (SEE PHOTOS). HE GLASS ON THIS HAS THE HARD TO COME BY PURPLE/VIOLET HUE FROM MANY YEARS BEING IN THE SUN, I FOUND THIS ONLINE ABOUT OLD PURPLE GLASS. I ALSO HAVE SOME BOW LIGHTS WITH THE LAVEDER GLASS IN SEPARATE LISTINGS. American glass manufactured between 1860 and 1915 was made with manganese, which imbued the glass with an interesting trait; the glass turned purple when submitted to prolonged exposure to UV rays. THE FLAG IS APROX 18″ X 13″ AND IS NEW WITH HEAVILY SEWN STRIPES AND EMBROIDERED STARS. THE HEAVY RING ABOVE THE BOTTOM FLAG ATTACHMENT SPLIT RING IS TO HELP KEEP THE BOTTOM OF THE FLAG FROM RISING, IT’S EASILY REMOVED IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. THE HEAVY, CAST BRONZE BASE OPENS WITH A HEAVY DUTY CAST BRONZE WING NUT SO THAT THIS CAN BE EASILY REMOVED, OR YOU COULD RECESS IT DOWN SO IT IS LESS APT TO GET BROKEN WHEN THE BOAT IS COVERED, (SEE 11TH PHOTO) YOU WOULD JUST NEED A MALE/FEMALE PLUG/SOCKET TO CONNECT IT. THE BASE HAS NICE PATINA BUT IF YOU WANT IT TO MATCH I CAN POLISH IT TO MATCH, BUT THAT WOULDN’T BE MY RECOMMENDATION. THE 3/4 OD BRASS TUBING IS THICKER WALLED THEN NORMALLY USED FOR A LIGHT STAFF, BUT IS WHAT I HAD ON HAND. THIS REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL LIGHT AND WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR VINTAGE VESSEL, THIS TRULY IS YACHT JEWELRY AND REALLY MAKES A STATEMENT. AT THE TIME THIS WAS LISTED I HAVE ANOTHER NEAR IDENTICAL ONE TO THIS WITH A REMOVABLE MOUNT, AS WELL AS OTHER VINTAGE BRASS/BRONZE SIDE LIGHTS, BOW, AND STERN LIGHTS. THIS LISTING IS FOR A VINTAGE MM? HINGED TEARDROP POLISHED BRONZE BOW LIGHT, THIS IS NICE IN THAT IT COMES WITH A GLASS LENS. I ALSO HAVE A PAIR OF RUNNING LIGHTS IN THE SAME DESIGN FROM THE SAME BOAT IN A SEPARATE LISTING, (SEE LAST PHOTO) THIS LISTING IS ONLY FOR THE BOW LIGHT. I JUST INSTALLED A NEW BULB SOCKET, AND VERY BRIGHT LOW DRAW (2 WATT) LED BULB. THIS IS BEAUTIFULLY ENGINEERED. I HAVEN’T SEEN THIS TYPE DESIGN IN A HINGED DESIGN BEFORE AND IT OPEN/CLOSE WELL AND SCREWS DOWN TIGHT, THE SCREW IS RETAINED BY A SPECIAL WASHER ON THE INSIDE. THE GLASS LENS SCREWS IN WITH A RUBBER GASKET, WHICH SHOULD MAKE IT COMPLETELY WEATHER TIGHT ON THE EXTERIOR. THE INTERIOR MALE RECEPTACLE THAT GOES THROUGH YOUR CABIN SIDE HAS ANOTHER WEATHER TIGHT FLANGE THAT HAS A HEAVY RUBBER GROMET ON THE SEAT OF THE FEMALE END. I DON’T KNOW THAT YOU NEED A WEATHER PROOF INTERIOR SEAL BUT IF YOU WERE TO SEAL THE WIRE LEAD IN YOU WOULD HAVE IT WEATHERPROOF INSIDE AND OUT. THE TREADED PORTION THAT GOES THROUGH THE CABIN SIDE IS WIDE ENOUGH TO ACCOMMODATE UP TO 3/4 AND STILL BE ABLE T. O FIT ON THE WEATHER PROOF END CAP, ALONG WITH THE RETAINING NUT AND HEAVY WASHER. IF YOU HAVE THICKER CABIN SIDES YOU COULD USE THE END CAP ONLY, TO HOLD IT IN AND COULD ACCOMMODATE UP TO A 1 1/8 THICK SIDES. THERE IS ALSO AN APROX 3/16 SCREW HOLE ON THE OTHER SIDE. IT MEASURES APROX 4 1/2″ LONG, 3 1/4″ WIDE AND IS ABOUT 1 3/4 TALL. I JUST INSTALLED A NEW LED BULB AND IT IS REALLY BRIGHT AT 450 LUMENS, AND DRAWS APROX 2 WATTS.
