This maritime spotlight saw actual service on the seas and is not a replica. Constructed of heavy copper with brass fittings, this spotlight would originally have been mounted on a pivot mount. The heavy glass face is intact without chips or cracks and has an inner red lens which can be raised, lowered, or removed (pics 5 and 6). 2 shows the very faintly engraved plate below the glass in the bottom front of the spotlight. It is difficult to make out in places but it appears to say. Best & Lloyd LTD. After many years of use at sea, this spotlight has the normal wear and tear you would expect. Nicks, dents, and discoloration add to its appeal. For collectors of nautical antiques, this spotlight is a rare find indeed. The spotlight measures approximately 12 inches high including the handle and 14 inches in diameter. It weighs 18 lbs.
