This light will extend out from the mount surface by 6 inches. The wall mount measures 3 5/8 inches in diameter and has four mount holes. To access the bulb socket, you simply unscrew the cage and the glass globe. Total weight of this light is about 4 1/2 pounds. The base of this light has some extra drill holes and double drilled holes. These extra holes are shown in the photos. The new wiring, including a ground wire, and bulb socket we installed was made by Westinghouse Electric, and is UL-Listed. Any normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less will work just fine.
