Very cool vintage piece. Lens stamped corning made in USA. Back stamp pictured Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp, Brooklyn, NY. It does seem that the latch is damaged. Some wax residue inside. Lots of natural patina. Any questions please ask.
Vintage, Maritime, “Perkins” Mast Head Lantern. Made of galvanized steel with brass trim. Has four steel attached brackets for rope ties. Has clear heavy Fresnel Lens with two small chips in glass. Contains no oil burning font but has been electrified. Opens from the top with brass hinged cover. 20″tall x 15″wide x 15deep Weight 21 pounds.

This vintage light is untested. The light shows wear from use including discoloration, discoloration inside the battery compartment, a dent as indicated with the arrows, scuffs, scratches, and other wear from use and age. The glass lens is marked “PERKO”. The brass portion is marked… The base measures approximately 3 inches in diameter. The light measures approximately 10 5/8 inches in overall height not including the carrying handle. The clear glass lens says Perkins No. Cannot read the other two but they are a set so they would most likely be the same. Galvanized metal holders not brass as some are. Obviously painted at some point. Really cool but I have no use for them. They are shaped like other PERKO brand but I cannot see a label. But with Perkins lens it makes sense they are PERKO lights. Made by Perkins Marine Lamp & Howe Corp. PERKO – Brookly, NY. Both look to be in very good condition. One has red glass lens and one has blue glass lens. Front portion is brass. The rest of the shell is a different metal. Each has the PERKO name badge on the back. Each measures about 7 1/2 tall (taller to the top of the handle).
