Antique Maritime Navigation Ships Signal Light Lantern, Scarce WWII Era Nautical

From my research it appears to be a WWII 1940’s, believed to be GP, Navigation or Deck Light. This was probably either a Naval Vessel, Troop or Supply Transport lantern. Clear lenses in very good condition noting one tiny chigger. The lantern is missed its burner. But I believe the piece to be in top form otherwise. Part of the model number can be seen and if looking closely at my close-up shots you can see enough to know the maker. Measurements are approximately 11″ tall (without the top movable brass bracket) by 8.5″ wide. Please see and enlarge all photos as they are part of description. Vintage Nippon Sento Double Fresnel Lens Navigation Light Masthead Light

Vintage Nippon Sento Double Fresnel Lens Navigation Light – Masthead Light. This is a vintage Nippon Sento double Fresnel lens navigation light, that has been custom wired for indoor use as a desk lamp. This light was salvaged from a once working vessel. Navigation lights are an iconic item in the nautical community. Red, green, and clear lights are required when away from the dock between sunset and sunrise and periods of restricted visibility. This particular navigation light is a White masthead light. They would be located at the bow of a boat with 225-degree visibility. It was made in Japan by Nippon Sento Co. This double-stacked light is made of solid brass and copper. It measures 17.5 inches tall by 11 inches wide (including the metal sticking out of the sides). The base measures 9 inches by 9.5 inches including the mount leg, it has 1 mount hole. The clear Fresnel lenses are in good condition, with minor chips and scratches. Each Fresnel lens is 5.5 inches high. This double light weighs 11.4 pounds. Fresnel Lens: 5.5? Weight: 11.4 lbs. We have re-wired this light with a new UL-Listed antique-style plug, an on-off switch attached to cloth-wrapped wiring, and two new bulb holders. The new sockets are rated to work with any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holders use a medium base bulb of 75 watts or less. To access the interior, on the top or bottom, loosens the screws and slide the lid off to the side. And see some of the projects we are working on!
