Weighs over twelve pounds. Long ago converted to a lamp simply by installing a pigtail, otherwise all original. Beautiful patina as it has never been polished or painted. Vintage red Fresnel glass with some damage to the ribs in a few spots but no cracks or repairs. The toggle switch near the bottom works beautifully. The cord is quite old but not at all cracked or brittle. The nuts on the lid/cap remove easily allowing quick access to the interior. I recommend NOT leaving it on or unattended without first having it checked by a qualified electrician. I took a photo (with flash) of the electrical “guts” so you can see how it is wired. I see a good amount of electrical tape was used. I had it turned on with an LED bulb for a good twenty minutes while I tested and photographed it, no problems. But I always recommend exercising extreme caution when dealing with old wiring and fixtures. Twelve photos posted including two photos showing how great this looks when turned on.
