1970’s Vintage Strand Theatre Floor Lamp British Antique Studio Light Industrial Art Deco Lighting Hollywood Film Cinema Retro Movie Spot. RARE BRITISH VINTAGE STRAND FLOOR LAMP FROM THE 1970s. This iconic example of British design was made by a strip lighting company at its Covent Garden facility on the west end of London. This Strand 23 profile spotlight – also known as the “baby spot” was one of the workhorses of the theater industry from the 1950s to the 1980s. Unfortunately, most of them have been lost or destroyed, and the surviving ones are rare examples of the original British industrial design classic. The flashlight is perfectly designed and features a ventilated die-cast housing, 360-degree rotation, internal reflectors and an iconic design. The headlight has been professionally polished to a bright mirror finish by a specialist British firm. We are proud of the end result as the light represents a unique and rare piece of design history. The light provides a wide beam for illuminating objects/architectural and displaying specific objects such as works of art. The lamp is presented on a height-adjustable stand with a metal round base. Perfect if you are looking for a rack that takes up little floor space. The height range with the lamp is adjustable from 95 cm to 180 cm and is ideal for all types of floors. The lamp has been adapted for home or office use and supports ordinary household bulbs up to 100 watts. We also fitted a luxury vintage bakelite plug (BS1363/A). This light has been fully tested by a certified electrical safety tester and meets current UK or US safety requirements. The lamp is a rare and original classic of British industrial design, carefully restored and looking for a new home.
