Vintage, Maritime, “Perkins” Mast Head Lantern. Made of galvanized steel with brass trim. Has four steel attached brackets for rope ties. Has clear heavy Fresnel Lens with two small chips in glass. Contains no oil burning font but has been electrified. Opens from the top with brass hinged cover. 20″tall x 15″wide x 15deep Weight 21 pounds.
Really dont have a lot of history on this item. Bought out of impulse, interesting piece. Most of the light hardware is made out of brass. The red glass fixture is broken and missing a piece. Weights approximately 17 lbs and stands 15 inches tall. This item could be repurposed to work with the original intent or would make a really nice accent pice. Wood Port/Starboard Lights Green and Red. Excellent condition but for a few dings on the wood. All functions work perfectly including all lights. The electrical cord had a fray, which was professionally repaired using solder. Size: This is fairly large and is a tabletop clock 19 x 16 x 3-1/2. Many details to this piece. Masts are stainless steel. Red and Green Lights act as nightlight with its own off switch. Clock is electric, no alarm, just time keeper. Finding one of these is next to impossible, here’s Two! These are the Dual Lens examples. They were made by J. H Peters and Bey of Hamburg, Germany. They look untouched other than normal cleaning while in service, now they have a rich, dark patina. They retain their original electrical sockets and all lenses and globes. All latches and hinges work well. In picture 9 from the left, looking at the back, the top left bracket is missing a small piece. The bodies are about 10 inches wide, not including brackets, and they stand almost 20 inches tall. I don’t know how they could be better. The item “Vintage J. H.
