Vintage Nautical Light

Very cool round 1940s industrial aviation shop factory flush mount ceiling wall work light. Was removed from a Curtiss Wright Aviation engine factory, These engines powered the WW2 Navy Dive Bombers. The lights were mounted on the walls and ceiling where plane engines were tested. They look to be explosion resistant. They are made of cast aluminum and have a great patina. The glass lens are marked Holophane in the center and on the edge. The glass lens is in good condition no cracks or breaks. The lens does have slight movement in the frame as the rubber seal is worn away. The industrial light can be mounted on the wall or ceiling. Has 3 holes on the side of the base and 3 on the top side, for choice of mounting. Great light to use in a loft, restaurant, beach house etc. The porcelain socket takes a standard size bulb, but will require a 7 1/2 length bulb. Bulb is for photo purpose only and is not included. The lens cover has 3 removable mounting screws, one pivots and acts as a swing hinge. The wire and socket are original and are untested. There is some old worn chipped black paint, with rust on the metal parts. There is some slight oxidation and minor pitting on the base. Please look over the pictures and ask questions when needed.
