You now these are actually ships port (red) and starboard (blue) lights. The 4 rings on each are referred to as lashing or tie down rings used to secure the lights during rough seas. If the starboard (blue) fresnel lens wasn’t busted the set would be worth… Brass Red Glass lantern, vintage with a beautiful original petina. If you have ever searched the beaches for sea glass you know that red Sea glass is the rarest, red glass was most likely from this type of product. Red safety glasses is used in the train industry for signaling. Older glass is very rare to still be in one piece especially in this color. This wonderful example of USA ships port train history is being made available today. This one is the only one of its kind that I have found.
