This was an unexpected find in the storage shed of my in-laws after their passing. It was in the box that it came in back in the early 1970s. The box did not fare well, but the light is in very good vintage condition. It has never been used, and the copper oil lamp that comes with it has the fabric wick and original hurricane globe. It is also wired for an electric lightbulb, which I have included. This is much larger than most, with the brass housing being 18 tall and 10 diameter. It has a Fresnel lens (similar to lighthouses) that is 8 diameter and refracts the light so that it can be seen from a good distance, whether using the oil lamp or light bulb. There are 2 brass handles; one extends upward, while the other hangs down below. The bottom handle was tethered as well to keep the light from swinging back and forth in the breeze, or from waves. When extended both above and below, it measures 26 tall. With the top handle in use, it is about 22 tall. Please take a look at the photos to see how nice this light is. It would really be at home in a riverside location or by a boathouse on a dock. It would also be a great addition to a yacht club or riverside or beachside restaurant. Besides the almost 50 sq ft of bubble wrap used, there are 1 foam insulating panels on all sides and top and bottom for extra cushioning and protection.
