Vintage Antique Ship Brass Binnacle Oil Lamp Light Sherwoods Birmingham Nautical

In good working order. Burns with a nice steady fame. Wick winder works well. Door catch and hinges good. Some blemishes on the glass but no damage. Smoke bell turns ok. Handle slightly distorted but sound and strong. Marked on the porcelain burner and the wick winder for Sherwoods Birmingham. This is much used lamp which is lamp-blacked inside. The brass is dull throughout with the odd bit of verdigris. I have left it as I found it. It comes with about 6 inches of wick which will last you a good while. It is about 26cm tall with the handle up. It is about 10cm wide at the widest point. It weighs about 575g empty. Some tips on usage. For a steady flame do not screw the smoke bell (on the top of the lamp) too tight. Allow air to circulate under the lamp. Standing it on a metal trivet or similar is ideal. Allow the wick to soak up fuel for a while after filling. Do not overfill the reservoir or the lamp may smoke too much when lit. Trim the wick every time you refill by cutting straight across the rop it to remove the brown bits. Always use premium paraffin or lamp oil. (kerosene in the US). Vintage Brass Nautical Passageway Ship Lights Set Of 5

From the top of the light to the bottom of the cage these lights measure 9 3/4 inches tall. The wall mount on the backs of the lights measure 3 3/4 inches in diameter and have 4 mount holes. When mounted to the wall, these lights will extend out by 5 3/4 inches. This light weighs just over 5 pounds. This light has been re-wired, including a ground wire, with all new UL-Listed parts that are rated for any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 75 watts or less, or you can use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs or LED lights with an Edison base. These lights were recovered during one our many different salvage operations. They will have minor surface wear from being used on a working vessel. NEW Antique/Vintage Brass XL ANCHOR Ship Light Oil Lamp with Globe + Electric

This was an unexpected find in the storage shed of my in-laws after their passing. It was in the box that it came in back in the early 1970s. The box did not fare well, but the light is in very good vintage condition. It has never been used, and the copper oil lamp that comes with it has the fabric wick and original hurricane globe. It is also wired for an electric lightbulb, which I have included. This is much larger than most, with the brass housing being 18 tall and 10 diameter. It has a Fresnel lens (similar to lighthouses) that is 8 diameter and refracts the light so that it can be seen from a good distance, whether using the oil lamp or light bulb. There are 2 brass handles; one extends upward, while the other hangs down below. The bottom handle was tethered as well to keep the light from swinging back and forth in the breeze, or from waves. When extended both above and below, it measures 26 tall. With the top handle in use, it is about 22 tall. Please take a look at the photos to see how nice this light is. It would really be at home in a riverside location or by a boathouse on a dock. It would also be a great addition to a yacht club or riverside or beachside restaurant. Besides the almost 50 sq ft of bubble wrap used, there are 1 foam insulating panels on all sides and top and bottom for extra cushioning and protection.
